Smart glass cost
Switchable glass pricing splits into two very different questions: what a laminated smart glass unit costs to buy and glaze, and what it costs to make existing glass switchable with PDLC film.
What sits inside each number
A laminated smart glass unit includes the glass, the switchable interlayer, delivery, glazing labour, access equipment for large panels and the electrical connection. It is a glazing package, priced by the glazier and the manufacturer.
A film retrofit includes measurement and design, custom fabrication to your panel sizes, dry-apply installation, edge detailing, commissioning, and coordination of the licensed-electrician connection. Our planning range for that work is $35–$85 per sq ft installed.
Square footage alone does not determine price. Two projects with identical glass area can differ substantially based on panel count, transformer placement, wire concealment and site conditions.
Ghost Glass™ requires electrical connections to be performed by a licensed electrician. Depending on scope, that work may be coordinated by us or contracted separately by the owner or general contractor.
